MI Moving LLC – Terms Of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms:

By engaging MI Moving LLC (“the Company”) for moving services, you (“the Customer”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between the Customer and the Company.

2. Services Provided:

The Company agrees to provide moving services as described in the service agreement or estimate, including but not limited to:

  • Packing and unpacking
  • Loading and unloading
  • Transportation of goods
  • Disassembly and reassembly of furniture (if agreed upon)
  • Storage (if agreed upon)

3. Estimates and Payment:

  • Estimates are based on the information provided by the Customer and are subject to change if the actual scope of the move differs.
  • Payment terms are as outlined in the service agreement or estimate.
  • A deposit may be required to secure the moving date.
  • The Customer is responsible for all applicable taxes and fees.
  • Late payment may incur penalties or interest.
  • Payment can be made by:
    • Credit Cards
    • Debit Cards
    • Cash
    • Checks
    • Personal checks
    • Certified bank checks or money orders
    • Electronic/Digital Payments:
      • Online bank transfers (ACH)
      • Mobile payment app (Venmo)
    • Online Payment Portals (click here for payment page).

4. Customer Responsibilities:

  • The Customer is responsible for providing accurate information about the items to be moved, the origin, and destination addresses.
  • The Customer must ensure that access to the origin and destination addresses is clear and safe.
  • The Customer is responsible for packing fragile or valuable items appropriately, unless the Company is providing packing services.
  • The Customer must be present at the origin and destination addresses during the move, or designate a responsible representative.
  • The customer is responsible for any parking permits needed.

5. Company Responsibilities:

  • The Company agrees to provide moving services with reasonable care and skill.
  • The Company will make reasonable efforts to adhere to agreed-upon schedules.
  • The Company will maintain appropriate insurance coverage.

6. Liability and Insurance:

  • The Company’s liability for loss or damage is limited as outlined in the service agreement or estimate.
  • The Company offers basic valuation coverage, which may be supplemented by additional insurance purchased by the Customer.
  • Basic valuation coverage will be released rate liability, meaning that the company is liable for 60 cents per pound, per article.
  • The Customer is responsible for declaring items of extraordinary value.
  • The Company is not liable for damage caused by pre-existing conditions or improper packing by the Customer.
  • The Company is not liable for damage to items inside of boxes packed by the customer.
  • Any claims for damage must be submitted in writing within [Number] days of the move.

7. Cancellation and Rescheduling:

  • Cancellations made two (2) business days before the move date will incur a fee of $100.
  • Rescheduling made within two (2) business days of the move date will incur a fee of $20.
  • Rescheduling requests made at least two (2) business days prior to the scheduled appointment time will incur no fees.
  • The Company reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the move due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather or equipment failure.

8. Items Not Moved:

  • The Company will not move hazardous materials, perishable goods, or other items as specified in the service agreement.
  • The Company reserves the right to refuse to move any item that poses a risk to the safety of its employees or equipment.

9. Governing Law:

  • This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Virginia.

10. Entire Agreement:

  • This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the Customer and the Company and supersedes all prior agreements or understandings.  

11. Changes to Terms:

  • The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Customers will be notified of any changes.
